Resumen
Solid waste has manifested itself since its inception as a challenge due to both direct and indirect anthropogenic activities, which cause such consequences; Thus, the development of techniques and practices began to guarantee an adequate management of solid waste. The increase in the total number of tons of waste generated in cities has been increasing, this is directly related to the increase in population, in addition to the capitalist and consumerist system in which it is immersed. The programmed obsolescence with which most of the raw materials have, causes them to be quickly converted into waste and replaced by new products, where many of these are composed of an increasing number of materials that come from different origins, which makes it difficult their separation and same treatment for final disposal or reuse of resources. The purpose of this undergraduate work under the monograph modality is to make a comparison, through bibliographic references and field visits, of the technologies that are applied in the collection plants of urban solid waste generated in the specific cities. Having done the above, thanks to the comparison, it is easier to grant a document that supports the best alternatives that can be carried out in Bogotá for the treatment of solid waste that favors the environment and the inhabitants of the capital city.
