Resumen
This research-creation project addresses the issue of enforced disappearance within the context of the Colombian armed conflict between 1990 and 2000 through a sculptural proposal based on the ready-made technique. By intervening an old, rusted typewriter and incorporating everyday household objects, the artwork symbolizes silence, absence, and collective memory surrounding the victims. Rooted in the author’s personal and family experiences, the project critically reflects on violence, impunity, and societal amnesia. Through a dialogue between theory and practice, supported by conceptual frameworks from Marcel Duchamp, Gaston Bachelard, and contemporary artists such as Doris Salcedo, the work seeks to provoke reflection and invite viewers to engage with memory through visual, emotional, and symbolic dimensions. The methodology combines field diaries, artistic exploration, and object resignification to construct a narrative that merges art, historical truth, and social justice. This sculptural installation functions as a space for remembrance, debate, and resistance, affirming the role of contemporary art in denouncing violence and preserving historical memory.
