Resumen
The image contains news about the Circular issued by the General Directorate of Customs, Post Office and Currency, dated September 30, 1846, addressed to the Mayor of the Treasury of the Department of the Center. This circular addresses the problem of the shortage of silver currency in circulation and proposes a solution through the acceptance and minting of foreign coins. It is specified that the silver coins of France, Sardinia and Belgium of one franc and half a franc are similar in dimensions and metal to the Grenadine coins of two reales and one real, respectively, which facilitates their recoinage without the need for prior casting. The Executive decides to allow these foreign coins to be received and used at an equivalent value of two reais and one real, respectively, in the main administrations and treasuries of the Republic. News published in El Constitucional. October 17, 1846.
