In this episode, the strengthening of cultural identity in indigenous communities in the Putumayo Department is discussed, with the participation of Carlos Quinayas, an indigenous leader. Carlos explains that cultural identity is made up of material and spiritual elements, and highlights the importance of knowing and respecting the traditions, history and customs of each community to strengthen this identity. Carlos Quinayas mentions the challenges faced by indigenous communities due to globalization and the influence of Western cultures, such as European and North American. He underlines the need for indigenous youth to feel proud of their cultural heritage and not be ashamed of their roots. In addition, he highlights the crucial role of indigenous media in promoting and strengthening cultural identity, especially among young people. The program also addresses the importance of education from childhood to preserve indigenous culture. Carlos Quinayas urges community leaders to implement various strategies to instill in children and young people respect and love for their traditions and customs. He concludes that cultural identity must be constantly defended and promoted to ensure its continuity and relevance in the future.
