Compilación de información científica mediante el desarrollo de una ontología para la consolidación de un estado del conocimiento sobre contaminación por componentes traza en aguas subterráneas

Abstract

During the execution of the current work, a set of scientific literature were reviewed with the aim to identify previous studies which associate groundwater race constituents with specific reaction mechanisms. With this information, multivariate statistical methods were applied to define classes of constituents related to the type of chemical reaction which operates over the chemical entities there grouped. When these classes were proposed the conceptual foundations of the functional hydrogeochemistry were established; its conceptual elements was included into a specific ontology about groundwater chemistry, developing the theoretical aspects which make possible to discuss the state of knowledge about the chemistry of the groundwater and how this allows to redefine the concept of chemical pollution.
