Abstract

In Cundinamarca, a fiber optic network was implemented that covers a large part of the municipalities of our department, including the 2 municipalities that are intended to benefit from this agreement and that were not connected to the ADC (Digital Highway of Cundinamarca). , which are El Peñón and Pacho Cundinamarca. For the entity and for the department, the use of resources in expanding and improving the quality and capacity of data transmission within the municipalities for their urban centers, population centers and rural areas is a necessity. Thanks to the massification of new technologies such as communication using fiber optics as a medium and GPON as a technology, it has allowed its implementation, operation, maintenance and growth costs to be much more favorable than the vast majority of technologies on the market, for Therefore, the entity installed fiber optic networks with GPON technology in urban centers and from these unlicensed band microwave networks were installed to reach rural areas, benefiting El Peñón and Pacho Cundinamarca, municipalities that are currently not covered by the ADC (Digital Highway of Cundinamarca). Where it is intended to provide connectivity to up to 20 institutions in each municipality, which represents additional points in the ADC, and will be able to achieve growth in connected points, not to mention the potential for interconnection of new points in the future thanks to the great data transport capacity , the ease and economy of implementation and its total integration.
