Resumen
Due to the global pandemic of COVID 19 that has plagued humanity since the beginning of 2020 and in which 2.2 million cases and almost 58,000 deaths are registered in Colombia alone, according to figures from the Ministry of Health [1] , there is evidence of the need for technological tools that contribute to the reduction of infections and consequently to the reduction of deaths. For this reason, a remote monitoring system for vital signs related to COVID 19 is developed that is portable and can be easily transported to the patients' homes, with which respiratory rate measurements are carried out thanks to the implementation of an MQ-type sensor. . The heart rate and temperature are measured using an optical sensor, these variables are controlled by an Arduino Mega microcontroller, which in turn transmits the variables to a Raspberry pi 3B + where they are registered in a Firebase server to be consulted. by medical personnel through an Android application and a web interface, this represents a lower possibility of contagion for those who care for positive patients and may even reduce the burden on the health system. The results obtained when developing the system show the possibility of using this device in favor of the current health situation, thanks to the proximity of the values taken by the developed system compared with external devices already patented, it can present an alternative solution to the problems generated by the current health crisis. After the tests carried out in different environments and people, it can be concluded that the device developed complies with the proposed solution to the problems presented and can serve as support in the current health crisis.
