Resumen
The image contains news about Ordinance 56 of 1848, which complements a previous law on public lighting and establishes that in places where more than 15,000 people live, owners of buildings with more than six windows or balconies must contribute one light for every six to ten holes, and place a lantern in the street at night. The number of lights increases according to the number of openings in the building. The governor or the parish councils have the authority to establish the necessary provisions to comply with this ordinance. In addition, the previous ordinances on the subject are repealed and it is established that this new ordinance will come into force as of October 25, 1848. News published in El Constitucional. No. 247. October 31, 1848, page 182.
