Resumen
In the report status of air quality in Colombia 2018, were reported 203 monitoring stations of air quality, of which 169 are fixed stations and 34 are indicative stations distributed in 27 SVCA. These figure shows that exist a low coverage in the monitoring of air quality in the national territory, if considered that there are 1.123 municipalities in the country. Besides, many of these do not yet implement their SVCA and there are regions where to requires permanent monitoring by the generation of high emissions resulting from the economic activities that are carried out there. This research shows the status of SVCA and its projection to 2030 year according to the specific requirements of each municipality and special jurisdictions. Also proposed the creation of a National Agency of Air Quality or a National Observatory of Air Quality, which will be take care of the institutional administrative regulation of state agencies that in Colombia are take care of control, monitoring and surveillance of air quality. This agency will be responsible of join technical, political and legal criterion to the management of SVCA, to develop management instruments that allows a significant reduction in pollution levels and coordinate all government efforts to ensure adequate urban environment management and planning of the territory, from development of a complete politic of air quality control in the country
