La imagen contiene una noticia acerca de una petición a el gobernador de la provincia de Bogotá, Alfonso Acevedo, informa que Margarita Sarmiento, con el permiso previo de su esposo, ha solicitado y obtenido el derecho exclusivo para publicar y vender su obra titulada "Octavario a la Divina Pastora". Este derecho, otorgado por la ley del 10 de mayo de 1834 que protege la propiedad de producciones literarias, le permite exclusividad por un término de quince años, prorrogables por otros quince. El documento oficial fue emitido en Bogotá el 22 de octubre de 1844 y también está firmado por Luis María Silvestre y José Caicedo Rojas, el secretario.
