Resumen
In reference to the network infrastructure of the “Instituto San Ricardo Pampuri”, a private educational institution located in Bogotá, it lacks a comprehensive design and adequate security measures since connectivity is based on basic 8port switches, distributed without a logical structure, resulting in a fragmented and deficient network that also includes unsecured WiFi access points, compromising data privacy and network reliability. The main purpose of this research is to propose a robust and updated solution by implementing Software Defined Networking (SDN) technology. The objectives are a comprehensive analysis of the current network design, a new scheme that covers the wired LAN infrastructure and wireless access, as well as the presentation of a detailed budget based on the proposed design with the performance of technical tests and simulations to validate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposal. Finally, the integration of an SDN controller is proposed as a fundamental part of the network management and supervision strategy. To develop the objectives, legal and ethical aspects are considered, including current regulations on personal data protection, information security and intellectual property. Having the identification and analysis of critical variables such as: network performance, scalability and security, ensuring that the proposed solution meets the necessary quality standards and requirements. The above seeks to offer a comprehensive and effective proposal for the “San Ricardo Pampuri Institute” to overcome its connectivity and security challenges, providing the educational community with a reliable, secure and advanced digital environment.
