Resumen
The internship developed in the municipality of Briceño, Boyacá, allowed me to obtain a greater practical knowledge of the tasks to be carried out in my career as a topographic engineer. This was a great opportunity to put into practice the skills and knowledge acquired during the training process at the Francisco José de Caldas District University. Initially it is important to highlight some geographical information of this Boyacense municipality, which is located in the west of Boyacá about 50 km from Chiquinquirá, its name is given in homage to General Manuel Briceño, and it was founded on April 25, 1890. This municipality has a slope towards the middle Magdalena and has a broken topography, with a lot of vegetation, fauna and has a humid tropical climate. It limits to the north with the municipalities of Tunungua and Albania in Santander, to the south with Pauna and to the east with Saboya and Chiquinquirá. This municipality is made up of 14 villages. Regarding the economy, this place is based on agriculture with floriculture as the main exploitation, from there guava, soursop, lulo and blackberry stand out. Livestock is also in second place as a farm made up mostly of Creole breeds used for dual purposes for meat and milk production. Mention of these data is made since it is there, where it is possible to be a participant in projects in a great advance not only personally, but because there is an opportunity for improvement in updating the maps of the water basins of this region, the The idea of this update is to identify strategic or risk points that are the basis for those who work in the plant to move forward and continue with the risk mitigation projects in the municipality due to the heavy rains that have occurred in recent years and that have affected communication between villages and neighboring municipalities. In order to provide a valuable contribution to the municipality, the most recent cartography was searched on portals such as Colombia in Maps and the information already available to the mayor's office, thus identifying 3 basins of great importance in the community that have been affected by the winter wave, leaving the municipality incommunicado on different occasions, the idea of this update is precisely to know those critical points that are deteriorating mobility in the region. These 3 basins are known in the sector as; Zapote, Guayabal and Sabama. Throughout this report we will delve a little deeper into them and the results obtained.
