Resumen
My musical experience as an ASAB student has evolved beyond entertainment, focusing on stasis in music, defined as sonic behavior based on repetition and subtle changes. Two key experiences—listening to Rodolfo Acosta's Looooop, where a repeated sound revealed a perceptual richness of harmonics, internal rhythms, and spatial effects to movement, and attending Simeon Ten Holt's Canto Ostinato concert—led the author to understand music as a ritual of meditation and contemplation. This aesthetic of stasis promotes active, conscious, and personal participation on the part of the audience-performer, altering the linear perception of time, highlighting the importance of silence as a portal to microscopic sounds, and valuing the soundscape as musical material. The final project, also inspired by the work of Morton Feldman, seeks to create a long-duration musical ritual from a few elements that immerses the participant in an "eternal now" of sound, fostering the personal exploration of static and changing sonic universes.
