Manejo y calidad de datos de biodiversidad, y la implementación de estos en las colecciones del Instituto de Ciencias Naturales – ICN de la Universidad Nacional de Colombia

Abstract

The digital information of the collections of the Institute of Natural Sciences -ICN used as platform the Specify software, during the period of this work the update was made of the data belonging to the Colombian National Herbarium -COL. The databases were downloaded GBIF and ICN data for the family Syrphidae in order to link the collections biological with the implementation of these data in research; to debug data, the OpenRefine software was used, guaranteeing the quality of the data, especially for the locality categories and taxonomic status. Finally, the QGis program was used to carry out the respective distributions analyzing the genera of the family Syrphidae with the altitude relationship they may have. That is why the present work is focused on the management of data from biological collections, making use of various tools for the treatment of their databases, to homogenize and structure them, achieving that in the end all the information referring to each specimen that is collected can be stored. found in a particular collection at the ICN of the National University of Colombia and thus contribute to the knowledge of biodiversity in the country through the publication of data in the resources that the ICN has.
