Resumen
This is a project that, from the point of view as a plastic artist, observes territories of architecture and in particular urban planning, focusing on locating a phenomenon that grows in the city of Bogotá: vertical construction. The document has short essays that reflect from architecture and urban planning on how we live, feel and make city. As a result of both theoretical research, the experience of walking the city and the plastic searches, Surge Construction System, an installation in which by appropriating the construction needle, element that I find significant for vertical construction, I reconfigure the space of the spectator, arranging them in such a way that they seem to "cross" the walls of the installation room. These needles hold cement plates on which “architectural plans” of houses are drawn. The project seeks to generate a reflection on our contemporary city, particularly Bogotá; about its constructive changes that demand the demolition of one- and two-story homes to favor vertical building that appears as a “solution” to the excessive growth of the population and a city that does not have more land to house a city that we would have a tidy growth plan but only seems to have a drive to heights
