Abstract

Water is one of the vital resources for life on earth; therefore, the dynamics of human settlements have been influenced by this resource. However, the distribution of water is unequal on the earth's surface, since most of it is concentrated in the oceans or in a diverse manner on the continents. For this reason, conservation, including the efficient use of water, is emerging as one of the most important policies of the different countries. In Colombia, the Efficient Water Use and Saving Programs - PUEAA are used as a strategy to conserve the country's water resources. Groundwater stored in wells is also included in the regulatory policies of the nation. This project is carried out in order to design the PUEAA-Water Efficient Use and Saving Program for the request of groundwater concession of a property, before the Secretariat of Environment of Bogota, the relevant environmental authority, the establishment whose commercial activity is a car wash. The PUEAA to be carried out is oriented to water resource management in the productive sector whose activity is car washing, which will be carried out in two phases, the first one will be the collection of the necessary information and the second one will be the planning of projects and activities aimed at reducing water consumption.
