Resumen
From the cross section of a channel, its hydraulic relationships are obtained, with which the behavior of the channel can be predicted, however these characteristics may vary due to natural factors such as variation in precipitation, earthquakes, removal of masses. among others, or anthropogenic factors such as discharges into the tributary, interception of the tributary for consumption in daily activities, agriculture, industry, or construction of dams among others. Knowing the behavior of the flow allows us to take into account the water availability of the body of water, and natural disasters can also be prevented in the river environment. The hydraulic relationships of main interest for the development of this document are flow, average velocity, depth and width of the river. These data are obtained from the history of 12 hydrometric stations located in the Páez River basin. This information is provided by the Institute of Hydrology, Meteorology and Environmental Studies (IDEAM). With the information obtained using the potential regression method, coefficients and exponents were determined, which with the help of the bibliography consulted, the analysis of the hydraulic geometry of the Páez River, which affects the morphology of the cross section, is carried out. In the midst of the development of this work, it became evident that there is little information about the study area in general, however, it was established that the morphology of the channel coincides with the relationship between the determined coefficients.
