Resumen
The image contains news about the first fine arts exhibition, since they were erected. Let us leave behind classical Greece and Rome, whose sculptures and architecture continue to be a source of admiration and study.
Let's go directly to the Middle Ages, a time in which, under the influence of the Church, a mainly religious artistic expression was produced. Medieval artists, often anonymous, created magnificent architectural works such as Gothic cathedrals, where light and verticality became key elements. These buildings were authentic stone bibles, where sculptures and stained glass windows told sacred stories.
In this historical context, Colombia also had its artistic manifestations, such as the paintings and sculptures that decorated churches and chapels. However, the richness of Colombian art was affected by the limitations of the time. Schools and high schools taught drawing methods that, according to critics, were sterile and did not contribute to artistic development.
The current exhibition, with its diversity of national and international works, represents a milestone in the history of Colombian art. The initiative of General Alberto Urdaneta, supported by the Government and the collaboration of contemporary artists, is a significant step towards the cultural and artistic development of the country. It is hoped that this annual exhibition will be the starting point for future similar events that contribute to the flourishing of Colombian art.
