Boaventura de Sousa Santos identificaba tres crisis a las que se enfrentabala universidad en el siglo XX: de hegemonía, de legitimidad yde institucionalidad. La primera la condujo a dejar de ser la única instituciónen el campo de la educación superior y en la producción de lainvestigación; la segunda la condujo a restricciones de acceso y, por tanto,llevó a la sociedad a exigir políticas de democratización y equidad;la tercera llevó a imponerle criterios de eficiencia y productividad decorte empresarial. La presente reflexión es una mirada crítica, desde laactual praxis universitaria, para evidenciar la permanencia de tales contradicciones,a la sazón de la acreditación y las competencias. Proponeuna alternativa con perspectiva pedagógica, humanística y tecnocientífica,para redimensionar las funciones universitarias en la definición ysolución colectiva de problemas sociales, nacionales y globales.

The first led her to stop being the only institution in the field of higher education and research results, the second led to access restrictions and therefore society to demand democracy and equality policies, the third took her to impose standards of efficiency and productivity of enterprise type. This paper show a critical reflection on the current practice of the university to demonstrate the permanence of such contradictions in the presence of accreditation and the skills, proposing an alternative from the viewpoint of pedagogical, humanistic, and technoscience, to resize university functions in defining and solving social problems, national and global.
