Resumen
The image contains news about the report of the Governor of Cundinamarca, which addresses the difficulties of educational and charitable institutions in the midst of the political crisis that the Republic is going through. The report highlights that many schools and establishments, such as the Merced Girls' School, the Casa de Refugio and the Hospital de Caridad, depend largely on the National Treasury due to the lack of sufficient funds for their proper functioning. This situation has led to the closure of the Colegio de la Merced during the current year, as well as the insufficient resources of the Charity Hospital to meet the needs of the disadvantaged population of the capital. Furthermore, it is noted that begging has increased due to lack of adequate shelter for the needy. The good functioning of the Colegio de Nuestra Señora del Rosario stands out, which is supported by its own income. A budget allocation is requested and the need to build a women's prison is highlighted. News published in the Official Gazette. July 7, 1868.
