Resumen
This work focuses on the design of an automation and control system for the detection and management of polluting gases inside underground mines in Colombia. It is based on a review of existing information on the implementation of monitoring and control systems for environmental variables within underground mines and an analysis of current technologies related to industrial automation. Using a mixed methodology that characterizes the gases present inside underground mines, as well as the sensors and instruments capable of measuring them, and describes the various current technologies for monitoring and control in this type of industrial activity, the technical criteria and design of an automated system for controlling gas concentration levels inside underground mines are generated, meeting applicable regulatory standards.
