Abstract

The radio program "Voices and Regions" of the Directorate for Citizen Participation and Community Action of the Ministry of the Interior, in its thirteenth episode, focuses on comprehensive care for early childhood and adolescence. Eduardo Montoya and Victoria Giraldo discuss the importance of stimuli and adequate conditions for the development of children between 0 and 5 years old. The legal framework of the Code of Childhood and Adolescence (Law 1098 of 2006) and the need for public policies in this area are mentioned. The role of the Colombian Institute of Family Welfare (ICBF) in guaranteeing comprehensive care for children in levels 1 and 2 of SISBEN is also highlighted. In addition, the problem of child labor and the importance of education and the protection of children's rights are addressed.
