Resumen
In urban areas there is a significant amount of pollution caused by vehicles and pedestrians leaving their waste, which constitutes a public health problem due to the increase in population and the growth of cities. Through the application of a dynamic simulation model, the evaluation of the sweeping service in the towns of Kennedy, Barrios Unidos, Puente Aranda and Fontibón was developed. This evaluation integrated the application of a cleaning index which for all localities yielded values between 27,47 and 57,30 which correspond to the very high classification. For its part, public perception varied with respect to the results of the index. The percentage for those who consider in its entirety that the service was adequate and sufficient, in Barrios Unidos was 28,57%, 30,43% in Fontibón, 14,29% in Kennedy, and 70,0% in Puente Aranda.
