Resumen
This research report presents an analysis of the representations of childhood present in contemporary cinema from two films: "El Regreso", Colombo-Venezuelan film and, "Mustang", Turkish film. The research question raises the inquire of what are the representations of childhood in the current cinema, and for this analysis, the social representations along with the categories of childhood, gender, ethnicity and social class are assumed as theoretical horizon. These categories serve to this research to understand the representations of childhood that are created in the cinema in two different cultural contexts, from which it can contribute to provide a look at the living conditions of the children, breaking the hegemonic looks built in Western society and giving way to diversity as a fundamental category to understand childhood, children's experience, their needs and the construction of their world.
