Resumen
This document presents the proposal for the construction of a pneumatic press for the welding laboratory of the Mechanical Engineering and Technology project of the Faculty of Technology of the Francisco José de Caldas District University, seeking to solve through the application of technology and implementation of the systems and elements that the institution has, adapting them to satisfy problems in the manufacturing and assembly stages. The basic system of the pneumatic press uses as an energy source, the compressor with which the mechanical laboratories count, this device will be used by students and officials of the Francisco José de Caldas District University for procedures that imply a good subjection and the application of a force that exceeds that which can be exercised manually, is governed by the application of previously acquired knowledge, which will be delimited by a design methodology and a schedule of activities. The construction carries with it a pneumatically driven cylinder that gives the possibility of moving a punch on the vertical axis which will be responsible for pushing the shaft or tree to make possible the extraction of its mechanical components; the total displacement of the press is estimated at 20 cm, and can be operated from a panel with electro-pneumatic pulsers, the output speed will be variable thanks to flow regulators, thus guaranteeing quality at work. As a basis for the project we limit a budget based on the quotes of each element used for the construction of the machine tool.
