Resumen
The characterization tests are of importance for designing an asphalt mixture. Through the application of these tests and the results obtained, it has succeeded in identifying a number of variables such as the mixing speed, temperature of the installation site , compatibility of the asphalt with the material to be mixed (stone aggregate or polymer in the case of a modified asphalt), among others, radical importance, affecting properties such as duration, stability, rigidity and functionality of asphalt mixtures. In particular, when studying the asphalt (or asphalt mixtures) through analysis techniques DSC and / or TGA can determine the thermodynamic behavior, which can be reached related to mechanical properties at the macroscopic level, so that can understand how the physical properties of asphalt are affected being modified (Mousavian, Sharafi, Roshan & Shariat, 2011) (Baumgardnera, Hardeeb, Negulescuc, Williamsd, Howarde, & St John, 2014) (Coronado, and others, 2010 ) also can establish the effects of external factors (operating temperature, among others execution conditions) on the stability of asphalt used in highway projects.
