Obra Negra

Abstract

This project, carried out in 2017 in the city of Bogotá, brings us closer to the constant work - and in this case personal -: the construction of the domestic house. This Piece brings us to a character, one of many men, who with his own resources and abilities undertakes the construction of his home. We are located initially in the SETENTAS years, an era characterized by the peripheral growth of the capital city of Bogotá, in order to make a journey of almost forty years, time that will take the conclusion of the building. It will not be our character, more than a symbol of tenacity and personal power, a symbol of all the people who at the same time did what corresponded to their needs, to all the social and cultural conditions that are involved; among many, the immersion into a new social space with the construction of domestic houses, undoubtedly reconfiguring the initial landscape and the dynamics of its environment. These works will make up what will be the first houses in the sector, and will bring with them the avalanche of densification based on personal exploits - so characteristic of self-construction - since the knowledge is the roots and foundations of the buildings, undoubtedly generating a warm atmosphere and a personal connection with the totality of the resulting space. The author focuses on the relevance of the "iron" in this type of architectural constructions, making it the symbol and the object that allows measuring the progress of the building; as a result, Obra negra is divided into three fragments. Being a three-story house, the author conceives the convenience that in this object of construction, sufficient previous and subsequent steps are established, capable of developing and evidencing personal processes, their conflicts, reflections and above all dialogue that engages the character, with its construction space.
