La construcción narrativa de la ciudad; una mirada a la relación entre la seguridad y el espacio urbano en la novela “La ciudad de los umbrales” de Mario Mendoza

Abstract

This work is interested in the novel "La ciudad de los umbrales" by Mario Mendoza to see in this, the possibility of glimpsing security within the dynamics of urban space, taking as a reference the ways in which the experiences are interwoven, the stories and the daily life of the main characters that its author develops. In this novel, imbued with "dirty realism" or "degraded", Mario Mendoza delves into the interpretation of the city of Bogotá through a very descriptive language that is based on the interpretation of the daily life of a group of inhabitants within of the city, which travel through spaces and times considered dangerous and insecure, where they discover the transgression of the conventional norms of a conservative moral and at the same time a city apparently hidden for most of its inhabitants.
