By developing this paper the simulation of four real processes, common in the industry such as Oil & Gas will take place: the separation of hydrocarbons, gasoline blending, propylene glycol reactor and distillation column, using a specialized simulation software, with a High demand in the industrial sector level ASPEN HYSYS ® chemical processes that allow the educational community in general, to adapt to current industry, familiar with software tools, instrumentation and industrial process control strategies applicable to the same. These processes serve as case studies for implementing control strategies, through ROCKWELL AUTOMATION ® software in order to reduce the execution time in the calculations and determine the appropriate control model to optimize the system. Turn the ASPEN HYSYS ® ROCKWELL AUTOMATION ® connection is via the communication standard OPC Server (OLE for Process Control) protocol based on dynamic data exchange (DDE); Be used macros that allow through DDE (Dynamic Data Exchange) making a communication between ASPEN HYSYS ® and Rockwell Automation ® since ASPEN HYSYS v 8.0 ® does not have the OPC protocol and therefore does not have a tool to facilitate communication commands with no external software. This document also provides a possible solution to the issue of data exchange between ASPEN HYSYS ® v 8.0 and Rockwell Automation ®, since the use of communication networks known allow real-time status of process variables and transmit essential information to determine tasks and actions to be taken for the proper operation of the systems analyzed. Eventually these processes will be shown through an HMI that allows the status of the instruments and their respective variables via Proficy HMI / SCADA software - FIX ®.
