Abstract

The image contains a news item about a report presented by the Director of the normal school, on the physical state of some schools in the State of Cundinamarca, as well as some deficiencies regarding the lack of supplies for students. In one of his sections it is mentioned that the state of public education is deplorable for different reasons, including the neglect and indifference of some authorities. Another criticism that stands out in the report is the financial compensation to teachers, which in the author's words is "miserable", compared to foreign teachers, who are paid fully and in advance. Finally, he suggests that the Executive Branch should direct some teachers to attend normal school in order to acquire knowledge "that they lack for the most part", in order to be able to better transmit their knowledge.
