Resumen
A water consumption monitoring system was designed and implemented for an apartment inhabited by three people. The solution utilizes an ESP32 board and Internet of Things (IoT) technology to enable real-time monitoring of water usage. Additionally, a mobile application was developed to provide users with intuitive access to collected data, visualize consumption trends, and receive alerts designed to encourage responsible water usage. The system demonstrated robust and stable performance, operating without failures during the testing period. Users reported increased awareness of their daily water consumption, allowing them to identify and correct inefficient usage patterns. The significance of these results lies in their potential impact on water sustainability in both domestic and urban settings. This innovative approach not only enables detailed consumption tracking but also facilitates proactive strategies to reduce water waste. Its scalable design positions it as a versatile tool for broader applications, such as communities or residential buildings. Consequently, this technological solution could play a key role in addressing global challenges related to efficient resource management and environmental conservation.
