Abstract

Taking as a starting point Law 1931 of 2018, which establishes the guidelines for the management of climate change in the decisions of public and private persons, the concurrence of the Nation, Departments, Municipalities, Districts, Metropolitan Areas and Environmental Authorities mainly in actions to adapt to climate change, as well as mitigation of greenhouse gases, with the aim of reducing the vulnerability of the country's population and ecosystems to its effects and promoting the transition towards a competitive, sustainable and sustainable economy. low-carbon development. The mitigation of Greenhouse Gases (GHG), is the management that seeks to reduce the levels of GHG emissions into the atmosphere, through the limitation or reduction of emission sources, such as deforestation, industry, transport, livestock , among others, and the increase or improvement of deposits and reserves. On the other hand, Law 2169 of 2021, aims to establish goals and minimum measures to achieve carbon neutrality, climate resilience and low-carbon development in the country in the short, medium and long term, within the framework of international commitments. assumed by the Republic of Colombia on the matter” Based on the foregoing, in the development of this internship it is intended to support the process of calculating the carbon footprint, emphasizing the change in land cover, to support the 22 municipalities to incorporate in the Management Plans Territorial and propose mitigation measures to reduce the carbon footprint of municipalities in the CAR jurisdiction and the region in general.
