Resumen
This monograph seeks to articulate extended techniques used in the flute to two musical works of Colombian popular tradition: The joropo "Los Diamantes"and the bambuco "Como para Desenguayabar".The proposal came from the systematization of such techniques, producing a catalog of them, including their name, description, notation, and audio-visual illustration. For this purpose various literature and audiovisual sources were consulted. Two of the greatest exponents of the popular flute in the Colombian and Latin American context were interviewed: Ignacio Ramos from Colombia and Manuel Rojas from Venezuela. Furthermore, the audiovisual record of the master class on Extended Techniques, conducted by the renowned Colombian flutist Hernando Leal at the Faculty of Arts ASAB in September 2014 was also used.
The musical proposal is a clear example of how we can explore the flute not only as a melodic instrument, but also rhythmic and harmonic, taking into account the languages of bambuco and joropo. In addition, it seeks to provide a perspective to explore and use extended techniques on traditional and popular music.
