La expulsión hacia el abismo de la periferia

Abstract

The expulsion towards the abyss of the periphery is a creative project that starts from the tracing of the center-periphery scheme and the review of my experience as an inhabitant of Soacha Compartir. From three places: work, duty to be and social mobility, I find that each of these stages obeys a broader structural framework, which I relate to development as a discourse, North American modernity, capitalism, Christian religion and neoliberalism. A framework in which appears, for me, a state of constant uneasiness, a space of tension between being or refusing to be peripheral. Finally, I ask myself about my position as a peripheral subject, but also as a subject trained in plastic and visual arts, a place where the possibility of deciphering and responding to the malaise from a critical practice as a creative power appears.
