Resumen
The present study utilizes life history as a qualitative research strategy to explore and comprehend, in her own voice, the life experiences of Lizeth Lara, a Caribbean woman living with myasthenia gravis (a chronic, autoimmune, neuromuscular disorder that causes muscle weakness and generalized or localized fatigue), and its relationship with dance, considering the uniqueness of her body, movement, temporality, and spatiality. Lizeth reconstructs and reinterprets memories, narrates her present, and envisions her aspirations for the future, shedding light on social issues, as well as the groups and institutions that have shaped her biography and contribute to the interpretive framework that contextualizes her actions, decisions, beliefs, and desires.
