Modelamiento y análisis espacial de una eventual invasión mecanizada del Ejército Boliviano al Chaco Paraguayo, a la ciudad Mariscal José Félix Estigarribia

Abstract

The present investigation studies the modeling and analysis of the possible passages of mobility of the combat vehicles of the army of Bolivia, before an eventual invasion in the Paraguayan Chaco. For research, the tools of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) have been used, which through spatial analysis and networks, allow identifying and characterizing the most probable routes between two points taking into account variables such as: the slope of the land, the hydrography, vegetation, soil characteristics, climate and mobility limitations of vehicles; in addition to establishing distances and travel times. These analyzes are intended to determine a strategic forecast of military action and defense planning at the border, in the event of a potential mechanized incursion for the occupation of the city of Mariscal José Félix Estigarribia from the department of Boquerón.
