Resumen
Mathematics for the Future was the title chosen to denote the impact of the internship that was developed at the Fundación Buena Semilla (FBS), in agreement with the Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas. The internship was carried out from February 2024 to June of the same year with the objective of integrating mathematical knowledge in the daily life of children and young people, thus contributing to the construction of their life projects in which they will be able to overcome the context in which the children will find themselves. The importance of this internship lies in the need to offer an educational approach that is not only limited to theory, but also adapts to the reality of the NNJ, who face various difficulties such as lack of resources and limited access to education. Through this experience, we sought to create a safe and creative environment that would foster meaningful learning of mathematics where the children and young people of the FBS would feel confident to take the activities of experiential mathematical content, as more playful activities. The main activities included interactive workshops that used didactic materials such as guides (mathematical calendars, operation guides, drawings), games (Sudokus, art galleries, parks, markets) and different resources that involved different spaces and forms of action. These activities were designed to show the use of mathematics in everyday contexts, such as money management and data interpretation. The impact of the internship was remarkable, as it managed to capture the interest of the participants and provided essential tools for their daily lives. The results achieved include a greater recognition of the usefulness of mathematics in everyday life and a strengthening of ties between the university and the community, which will allow for the continuity of future internships and educational projects at FBS.
