Resumen
Resoundingly Black Woman is a traditional African-Colombian dance play based on the true life story of its interpreters and co-creators, Leidy Cabezas and Leiny Hurtado. This traditional dance play reflects and reaffirms our experience and feeling as Black, African-Colombian and Afrobogotana women. This work aims to convey our feelings as Black dancers in a racialized and racist context. In this scenic piece, we perform diverse dances from the Pacific and Caribbean Coasts, which have been strong and significant means in the process of Black people struggle, resistance and identity construction. We decided to do this research - creation because for a long time in our lives, we have suffered acts of racism and racial discrimination, which have led us to question our identity. For this reason, we want to show in this work, Black women's daily life experiences and to highlight the ancestral and traditional knowledge they have carried and passed on from generation to generation.
