Abstract

This document aims to reveal the results of the research carried out with the Ministry of health and Social protection on the construction of the State of the art of economic activity of the handicrafts of the informal sector, with an emphasis on occupational risks. This information is based on a series of contributions that the historical part of handicrafts identifies the framework conceptualized to economic activity in the country, followed by the current characterization of the country and finally the description of artisan crafts established groups. This process is a compilation of information from different sources and entities contributing to the construction of the State of the art. It also organizes and analyzes the information according to the convenience of the investigation, allowing reflect where concentrates various artisans and craft trades in the country; as it seeks to contribute to identify the situation of informality in traditional economic activity framed on the risk factors to which the producers of handicrafts are exposed and as these can affect the safety and health of the artisans of the country.
