Resumen
Considering that the botanical garden is one of the most important environmental entities in Bogotá, its high consumption of electric energy is something that is contradictory, a situation that challenges its mission, calling into question its commitment to sustainable development. To control the increase in energy, it is proposed to monitor the trend analysis of electric energy consumption. Also, to identify these new infrastructures, such as restaurants and recreational areas, in which an investigation of their energy consumption will be carried out. Once the consumption is identified, procedures are recommended that help reduce energy consumption, such as electrical inspection to prevent damage or leaks, promoting a culture of energy saving among employees, and reorganizing the work area to maximize the use of natural light. Reducing energy consumption has always meant a great cost for the botanical garden, but over the last 3 years, this consumption has increased. That is why, through data collection and an update to the diagnosis previously carried out, we seek to adjust variables that have not been controlled and that affect energy consumption, in order to control and normalize these energy consumptions. With this, we will be able to have a broader view of energy consumption, always ensuring that it is under the requirements of ISO 50001.
