Daniel Johnston y yo vendíamos hamburguesas : análisis de una crisis vocacional en la experiencia artístico-formativa universitaria

Abstract

Through the author’s own personal story (an acting student and his experience inside the educational system), the text of Daniel Johnston and I Used to Sell Burgers, exposes and analyzes, the question of vocational crises. It explains that the method to resolve his own crisis is related to the figure of North American singer Daniel Johnston and to an episode of the author’s life in which he dropped out of college in order to sell burgers. The description of his own personal story is alternated with research material that reinforces the importance of reflecting on professional vocation and the repercussions of the educational system in the future of the students.

The objective of this study is to formulate an entirely different perspective facing the common focus on the impact that vocational crises have in the country, throughout the years, where the problem is perceived as a homogenous issue despite the fact it happens to such a diverse group of people.
