Resumen
The Fontibón market square, as its name indicates, is located in the town of Fontibón, it is one of the 19 district squares that the city has, it has around 415 modules, two floors and a parking lot, the square within the locality is one of the centers with the highest generation of organic waste, about 91% of the waste generated is organic while the remaining percentage corresponds to the generation of inorganic waste, such as plastic, Styrofoam and paper, normally these wastes are misclassified and improperly disposed by users and traders most of the time. The programs regarding the management of solid waste in the market place are very scarce and do not have adequate dissemination, which generates a lack of knowledge on the part of merchants and users, thus reducing their scope and causing environmental deterioration. bad environmental practices, damage to facilities, and putting health at risk. This can be observed in the landscape deterioration and in turn in the visual and environmental pollution since the poor disposal of solid waste persists in the market place, the generation of vectors and annoying odors due to the decomposition of organic waste, the bad and almost zero separation of solid waste in addition to the lack of containers for the correct disposal of hazardous waste. In response to these shortcomings, we proceed to formulate and update the Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Plan (PGIRS) with covid-19 protocols for the Fontibón market place, as a management and planning tool for the proper management of the solid waste generated there.
