Resumen
"Between stations" is a project that reflects, through a visual and artistic lens, on mobility and its impact on Bogotá. Inspired by my personal experience as a user, the text addresses issues such as precariousness, vulnerability, and social fragmentation that affect the city's inhabitants. It explores the social, economic, and cultural dynamics of public transportation in Bogotá, with a focus on TransMilenio as the main mode of public transport in the Colombian capital. The text is divided into six chapters that examine the historical evolution of transportation in Bogotá, the challenges of the current system, and its impact on the quality of life of its citizens. It questions the social relationships and tensions that emerge in this space. The economic impact of the system is also considered, along with the cultural dynamics that shape citizen interaction, and the absence of a sense of belonging to the city expressed by most of its users. From these premises, an artistic proposal is presented—an installation-based work through which, as an artist, I seek to establish a dialogue with the viewers.
