Resumen
This paper aims to propose a guide to estimate the topographic costs concerning the consulting, construction and supervision of highways and roads. To achieve such goal, we have consulted several documents and papers from different public and private entities. Then, the Analyses of Unit Prices (AUP ) were performed by calculating the topographic commission performance of more than 50 fieldworks carried out along the Colombian geography. On the fieldworks, variations regarding altitude, weather, visibility, vegetation and ground types were found; as well as staff and topographic equipment requirements. The performances that could not be obtained directly from the fieldwork were calculated statistically. Subsequently, the indirect costs such as workforce, equipment and materials were calculated, since these are necessary for the activities involving topographic surveys, location and stakeout. Also, we provide some recommendations for the indirect costs calculation, which may result from topographic works (administration, unforeseen expenses and utilities). Finally, the AUP and the indirect costs are integrated in order to get the total topographic costs from the consulting and construction of highways and roads in the country.
