Resumen
The process of gathering information in a field trip of geology is the backbone of any geological mapping process. The order and access to the information collected are of vital importance in addition to the location or georeferencing of the different stations defined in the field. The disadvantages of carrying out this process manually is that there is often loss of information and clutter, in addition to the fact that the location where data is being acquired is not always implicit (strike, dip, samples, lithologies, annotations, control points). geomorphological, photographs, etc.) and the transfer of information to geographic software is always done mechanically, which makes the process take a lot of time and in some cases it can incur errors or generate limitations at the moment of visualize the information spatially. What is sought is to solve the above mentioned through an application that records the data that the professional in the field considers important for further analysis, in a way that you can see your location immediately on a base map, consult each record and if it is the case, edit it and then download the data of each station collected, in compatible formats with a software of Geographic Information Systems. For this reason, the Geolibreta mobile app was created, which is a form designed and developed using the Open Data Kit (ODK) components for the collection of the most relevant data in a geology field trip, which will be saved locally in the mobile for later download once you have connected to internet.
