Resumen
This work intends to synthesize chronologically the inherent implications of technology in the way of composing music for home video game systems. The exposed temporal order aligns with the generations of Game Consoles, which were established mainly by the market. Within and outside these generations, different electronic devices with different capacities, including storage and processing, are contrasted. But, above those characteristics, the focus is on the sound chips and their variables in terms of the number of channels and methods of sound synthesis, factors that not only sharpened the creativity of those who composed, but also gave the particular touch to the sonority of the medium. The purpose of this document is to show this particular musical development, together with the repercussions that have been derived from technological development.
