Resumen
This research entitled: The question about the body in Paralympic sport, was born within the Master of Education at the Francisco José de Caldas University. It was installed in one of the fields of interest in sport, specifically, Paralympic sport, and includes two basic elements of analysis: the biological dimension where the body is thought of as an object, so that it is usually instrumentalized. The second, the sociocultural dimension, in which the body is conceived as a whole, where an approach is made to the corporeity and the symbolic and psychic aspects that reside in it as well as the biological aspects, such as thoughts, feelings and interpretations that the human being performs. A study of the categories was carried out: body and sport, based on the authors, David Le Breton (2002); Lluis Duch and Joan-Carles Mélich (2005); Julia Kristeva (1988); Juan M. García Manso, Manuel Navarro Valdivielso, and José Ruiz Caballero (1996) and the International Paralympic Committee, among the main references. The purpose of the proposal was to recognize the conceptions of the body that have been constituted in the stories of the Paralympic sport coaches to establish the possible constitution of corporeity in sports training; and it was conceived from the particular interest of the researcher as a sports coach, in which initially, she understood the body in terms of performance, relegating corporeity to the background, a situation that was not considered in the way she planned her training.
