Resumen
The image contains news about a decree on treasury bills. The decree addresses the issuance of treasury notes as a measure to cover public expenses and combat financial speculation. These bills, equivalent to demand drafts, were backed with more than 800,000 pesos annually to amortize 500,000 pesos, with the aim of guaranteeing their value and mandatory acceptance. The decree establishes sanctions for those who practice discounts greater than 2% on the purchase of tickets or increase prices, imposing fines. In addition, it suspends the payment of pensions until the banknotes recover their value. The decree also stipulates that all payments against national offices will be paid in treasury bills or money and the use of these bills in specific transactions is permitted. News published in El Colombiano. July 4, 1862.
