Resumen
The document explores dance as a medium of communication, emphasizing its expressive power beyond spoken language. Through both theoretical and practical analysis, it examines how the elements of dance—movement, lighting, costumes, and scenography—compose a message transmitted from the choreographer to the dancer and ultimately to the spectator. The author integrates communication models and key concepts such as perception, message, and bidirectionality in the artistic process, positioning dance as a form of aesthetic and symbolic interaction.
The study focuses on the piece "De Guayabas y Mariposas", analyzed as an embodiment of magical realism on stage. It identifies mechanisms that connect the magical and the everyday through the moving body, producing an abstract yet evocative narrative. Interviews with the choreographer, performers, and audience members reveal how the piece communicates complex ideas and emotions through body language, constructing meaning based on the viewer's subjective interpretation. The research concludes that dance not only communicates but also transforms the spectator's experience by actively involving them in the interpretation of the stage message.
