Resumen
"Of Memories, Women, and Portraits" is the result of a research-creation process in the field of Artistic Studies. It explores relationships between memory, the problematic theme of ideals about being a "good woman," and portrait photography. In an ethnographic, biographical, and visual approach, it fosters spaces for encounters with women of different generations of my family system, asking what these ideals are or have been. In the photographic image and in conversation, I recognize tools to construct and multiply memory, based on the review of the family album and the life story. I encounter the poetic nature of memories when they are awakened by the contemplation of family portraits and when they are narrated. In poetic terms, each time it is read, related, or experienced, memory is constantly nourished by the way it is remembered and the way it is narrated.
